Beat Builders Music program

An Innovative Approach to Mental health

Beat Builders delivers urban music in a professional studio where creativity, music therapy approaches, positive mentorship, and cultural belonging are strengthened alongside youth. Designed for BIPOC and marginalized male youth who are justice-involved or transitioning out of the youth justice system, young people explore their passion for music while learning skills directly applicable to music and technology-related industries.

What we are, provide and support

Beat Builders has admission dates throughout the year and provides food and transportation to help ensure accessibility for all potential participants.

We provide personalized wraparound supports and services that foster creativity, build belonging, and promote productive self-expression in youth, with support from a clinician, youth worker, and music professional.

Youth wellbeing and mental health needs are growing – as a community, we need innovative ways to address wellness and encourage positive self-expression. Beat Builders seeks to revolutionize how music is used to support wellness by providing a pathway to therapeutic support through urban music culture.
