Our organization, leaders, and community supporters, recognize Fernie Works for more than just an employment program. That is why we launched Fernie Works. We are invested in its growth, and serving youth who are capable, resilient, and looking for a start to move their journey forward.
It is all in the details with the Fernie Works program.
The program is designed to carry transferrable skills that carry youth from beginning to end, and beyond – from workshops, trainings, to problem solving, budgeting, and time management. We are especially proud of our keen commitment to diversity and cultural awareness, shaping how we support and engage with youth every day.
On the grounds of this program, young people can be seen interacting, having conversations with staff, laughing, creating art, and building meaningful relationships. They take part in hands-on activities like volunteering in the garden and fueling up and preparing together before a community service, such as spring cleanups. There are great opportunities here for growth and engagement.
Fernie Works is not just a traditional employment program. It reflects the evolving realities and needs of today’s youth.
